I Hope You're Doing Well + A Way to Be With You

online chorus | 5'

I Hope You're Doing Well and A Way to Be With You are two pieces for live online chorus. Both scores are forthcoming from Graphite Marketplace in August 2020.

performance notes

Sing in your range (as written, or down 8va).

Singers should emphasize each syllable slightly—almost bell-like—and add their own dynamics.

Conductor may cue the beginning of the piece and the entrance after the fermata. They should sing with the choir.

Make no effort to stay in sync; everyone should sing through the lines in their own time.

When two notes are given, pick one.

If not performing virtually, singers should stand at least 6 feet apart from each other and still follow the above instructions.

I HOPE YOU'RE DOING WELL

I hope you're doing well

I hope you're safe and happy

I hope you're doing well

I hope you're healthy and safe

I hope you're happy and well

I hope you're staying sane in such uncertain times

I hope you're doing well

I hope you're doing well

I hope you're safe and happy and well

I hope you're doing well

I hope you're healthy and safe

or as much so as possible right now.

A WAY TO BE WITH YOU

It doesn't matter if the timing's right,

I'll find a way to be with you.

And on the days when nothing's going right,

I'll find a way to be with you.

And if I'm honest

I don't know what to say,

except I'm here to stay.

When it's dark and you can't sleep at night,

I'll find a way to be with you.

And when it feel like there's no end in sight,

I'll find a way to be with you.

Nothing is easy when you are far away

But that will change some day.

When our days are ours and time is free,

You'll find your way home to me.

And after all these hours are done and through,

I'll find my way home to you.
