Est autem fides credere | SSAATTBB Chorus & Oboe | 6'

Est autem fides credere was premiered by the New York Virtuoso Singers (Harold Rosenbaum, director) and sets a Latin text by Saint Augustine: “Faith is to believe what you do not see; the reward of this faith is to see what you believe.”

Within this piece, the offstage oboe is a literal representation of the “unseen,” allowing the chorus to interact musically with an otherwise abstract concept.

A recording of the New York Virtuoso Singers’ performance of this piece was released on their album Toward Lasting Peace (Soundbrush Records).
