I'm Dale Trumbore, a composer and writer based in Southern California. My last name rhymes with "drum" and "door."

These are my most bestselling choral works. One of my favorite recent projects was She Only Remembers, a ballet and album for solo piano about memory loss and forgetting.

I often write about working through creative challenges. My book Staying Composed: Overcoming Anxiety and Self-Doubt Within a Creative Life has been called "a treasure trove of practical strategies for moving your artistic career forward" and is also available as an audiobook.

 

My second book, coauthored with Dr. Brandon Elliott, will be available from Oxford University Press in September 2025. That book​, Composing a Living: a Music Creator's Guide to Money, Relationships and Business is available for pre-order now through Amazon and OUP.
