How to Go On | 15'
soprano, mezzo-soprano, tenor, or baritone & piano
Originally written for a cappella chorus and newly arranged for voice & piano, How to Go On asks how we confront our own mortality after a loss. How, in the face of that knowledge, do we bring grace back into our daily lives? Ultimately, this work finds beauty, catharsis, and solace in the words of poets Amy Fleury and Laura Foley.
How to Go On was commissioned for chorus by Choral Arts Initiative (Brandon Elliott, director) and premiered in July 2016. The art song arrangement is dedicated to soprano April Amante, who premiered this new version of the piece in January 2023.
This piece is available for soprano, mezzo-soprano, tenor, or baritone & piano from Graphite Marketplace.
