I'm Dale Trumbore, a composer and writer based in Los Angeles. My daily routine looks like this, and I send out a monthly letter called poem, piece, post with behind-the-scenes details about current projects. I make my living composing, writing, speaking, and teaching.
I compose most often for chorus, though other recent projects have included two works for orchestra. This season, I'm particularly looking forward to performances at Carnegie Hall, the NCCO National Conference, the Norton Simon Museum, and Walt Disney Concert Hall. This is the piece I'm proudest to have written, and these are my choral works that are performed most frequently.
I often write about working through artistic struggles, and last year I released a book about overcoming anxiety and self-doubt called Staying Composed. It's been called "a treasure trove of practical strategies for moving your artistic career forward," and the audiobook will be released later this year.
